Over the past decade, Jaclyn Banner has established herself as one of the most talented and creative costume designers in the business. Having transitioned from wardrobe styling into costume design, she came into the business with an added flare for style and a keen eye to design original costumes with calculated details that help tell the story of who the characters are in a realistic way – a trait well admired by her clients. Her credits show how her eccentric mind works, with projects exhibiting her range of design – from contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi and period genres.
She has worked on a number of notable projects, including Jordan Peele’s GET OUT, all of the installments of The Hunger Games and successful TV series such as BANSHEE for Cinemax and Step Up High Water for Starz.
She has designed a variety of features including director Quincy Ledbetter’s Alieu the Dreamer for Paramount+ & BET’s Project Cre8, the NAACP Image Awards nominated Behind the Movement (chronicling the history of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott) directed by Aric Avelino and Netflix’s action thriller Edge of Fear for director Bobby Roth.
She is also known for her designs for television, such as three seasons of AMC’s anthology series Creepshow on Shudder, the latter episodes of season one of the Emmy nominated series The Ms. Pat Show and season one of Kingdom Business, the #1 show for BET+ for 2022. Her most recent work includes the highly anticipated adaptation of Octavia Butler’s novel KINDRED on Hulu for FX.
In addition, she has also designed projects for Amazon, Comedy Central, Disney+, Lifetime, Lionsgate and USA.
Jaclyn has also styled promos for BET, FX, Lifetime and USA networks and in addition to promo and key art shoots, she also styles editorials and commercials.
Jaclyn is represented by Dattner Dispoto & Associates and is an active member of the Costume Designers Guild in Los Angeles, California.
